How Should I Use Rosemary Oil?
There are some common ways to apply rosemary oil as a hair restorative and thickener. And in the beginning, we advise you use it once or twice a week. You can use it more frequently after you have become comfortable using them.
1. Apply It On Your Scalp Directly And Massage It
Take about 5 drops of rosemary essential oil and a teaspoon of carrier oil, for example, jojoba oil or coconut oil, then mix them. After a bath, massage it into your scalp evenly. You can decide whether to rinse it out according to your needs. If you want to rinse it, let the oil sit on your scalp for at least 5 to 10 minutes beforehand. If choose not to rinse, just leave it on your hair.
2. Mix It Into Shampoo
Besides hair shampoo, it can also apply to conditioners, lotions, or creams. But never add too much. Keep to about five drops per ounce of product. You can also add 2 to 3 drops directly to any hair product when you apply a dollop of it on your palm before use.
3. Add It To Your DIY Shampoo
Because of the chemical ingredients in some hair shampoos, some people with sensitive skin tend to make their own shampoo. And there are many recipes online for a shampoo base. You can also add essential oils for your preferred health and beauty benefits. These may incorporate a mixture of baking soda, coconut oil, essential oil, and possibly other oils.
Side Effect Of Rosemary Oil
Rosemary oil is helpful for hair growth, but it doesn’t mean that there is no any side effect. There are some warnings and precautions for rosemary.
1. Rosemary has convulsant/epileptogenic properties and may cause seizures. Rosemary may also cause allergic contact dermatitis. Please make sure that you are not allergic to rosemary oil.
2. Be careful enough to avoid it in your eyes. If contact occurs, quickly rinse your eyes with cold water.
3. Not enough is known about the safety of using rosemary essential oils while pregnant or breastfeeding. Though using the essential oil for hair loss is only done topically, be cautious — its effects in this regard are still unknown.
